Program Manager, Green Trade

Job Description

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in environment, energy, natural resources, engineering, or a climate-related field
• At least 7 years of relevant experience, OR 5 years with a postgraduate degree in a relevant field
• Proven experience delivering green trade or climate programmes in Africa
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
• Proficiency in French is an advantage
• Strong programme management, donor reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate at the intersection of climate, energy and trade policy

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic design and delivery of climate-resilient trade solutions across East and Central Africa
• Drive end-to-end programme management of the Green Trade portfolio, including planning, budgeting, implementation and reporting
• Engage governments, donors, the private sector and partners to mobilise and shape green trade interventions
• Translate climate, energy and natural resource policy into actionable trade programmes
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and learning across green trade projects to demonstrate measurable climate and trade impact
• Represent TradeMark Africa in technical fora, working groups and high-level engagements on green trade and climate-resilient development
• Coach and lead programme staff and consultants delivering green trade activities
